St Clare’s Celebrate Excellent GCSE Results Again
Grade 7+ (A*/A)
Grade 4+ (A*/C)
Pupils at St Clare’s, Porthcawl are celebrating exceptional GCSE results again today, having significantly outperformed their peers across the UK.

Star performers were Macy Campbell (eight 9s and an 8); Carolina Marques (six 9s, an 8 and three 7s); Ella Mugford (an A*, a 9, five 8s and three 7s) and Izzy Lindley (an A*, a 9, four 8s and three 7s).

Benefit from an uninterrupted education at St Clare’s
This year saw the real benefit of St Clare’s Remote Learning Programme as students continued to receive one-to-one pedagogical and pastoral support during lockdown with a full interactive, structured timetable of virtual lessons. St Clare’s unique, individualised provision identifies with each of its pupils to find their personal path to success.
Today’s excellent GCSE results follow Tuesday’s exceptional A-Level results where students achieved 61.4% at A*/A and 86.4% at A*/B. St Clare’s has been in the top 5% of top performing A-Level schools in the UK for the last three years and anticipates this to be the same this year. The 2021 A-Level grades build on the excellent results seen in previous years with St Clare’s achieving a clean sweep of 100% pass rate across all subjects, highlighting the school’s strength in both academic and creative fields. 100% of students gained a place to study at their first-choice university destinations, including many in the Russell Group.

I am so proud of all our students. Despite life as they know it having completely changed during lockdowns, they have shown incredible resilience and adaptability, achieving results which clearly give them the opportunity to fulfil their life aspirations. These fantastic results are testimony to both their hard work and the support and dedication of their teachers, who have remained committed to maintaining the highest standards of education. It is a pleasure to celebrate with them all today.
