Our admissions process is simple and transparent and outlined in brief below.
While this covers the key points in the process, it can be adapted to suit you should you wish to meet with the Headteacher more than once, have a repeat visit to the School etc. We will do all we can to answer your questions in good time, and ensure a smooth transition into the School.
Parents are required to disclose their knowledge of any learning difficulty, behavioural issue, disability or medical issue relating to their child on registration and to provide copy of any assessments that have occurred. Failure to disclose and provide details could lead to the withdrawal of an offer of a place.
Contact our Registrar, Mrs Holly Fowlkes, on (01656) 789966 or email her at email@example.com for an initial conversation about your child and to check availability in the relevant year group, particularly the Nursery where we are enrolling as far ahead as Autumn 2020. She will send you further information and a Registration Form.
To learn more about our school, request a prospectus.
Arrange to visit St Clare’s for a personal tour to discuss all aspects of school life and experience the atmosphere and ethos of the school. You will have the opportunity to meet the Headtecher and to see the school during a normal working day. Please bring a copy of your child’s last school report (if applicable).
Open Mornings are held once a month during term-time and start at 9:00am with a welcome talk from the Headteacher followed by a tour of the school. Please complete our website enquiry form to join us at one of our school events or contact Mrs Fowlkes on (01656) 789966 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Complete a Registration Form and pay a non-refundable registration fee of £50. Registration is an indication of interest and is not a guarantee of a place. Places at St Clare’s are much sought after, particularly in the Nursery where we have limited places available. We are already enrolling for Autumn 2020. We therefore recommend that you complete the Registration Form and return it along with the non-refundable registration fee of £50 as soon as possible.
Once we have received your Registration Form, we will send out a formal Offer of a place (subject to availability). The place will be held open for 7 days after which time it may be offered to another family.
Entry is confirmed when the Acceptance Form is returned together with the £250 deposit which is refundable when your child leaves St Clare’s, providing all fees and other bills have been cleared.
If you cancel a place after Acceptance, ie before your child enters the school, the first term’s fees will be charged in lieu of notice (as per clause 9.8.1 of Parent Contract). Please refer to our terms and conditions, which are available from our Registrar upon request.
Taster Sessions and Settling In
Shortly before your child joins St Clare’s, we will contact you to arrange a settling in session where your child can come in to meet their new teacher and their classmates. The length of the session will depend upon the age of your child. This is to help them become familiar with their surroundings. Parents of very young children in the Nursery are more than welcome to stay half an hour, although we do often find that children will integrate more easily if they don’t have parents with them.
If you would like to find out more about St Clare’s School, or if you would like to arrange a visit, please telephone us on (01656) 789966 or email email@example.com
If you require assistance in parking or in accessing the school please phone Reception on (01656) 782509 prior to your visit.
