Admissions Process - Nursery

Thank you for your interest in our school. As a result of the current coronavirus crisis, we are changing the way we are working to provide parents with the peace of mind that they can still plan for their child’s educational future through our admissions process. Please contact the team using the information below.

Applying for your child’s place at St Clare’s School Nursery

Step One

Request a Prospectus

As there is high demand for Nursery places, contact our Admissions Team on 01656 789966 to discuss your particular requirements. To learn more about our school prior to an open event, please request a prospectus.

Children are able to join the Nursery from the age of 3 and provided that they are dry and out of nappies and pull-ups prior to starting.

Step Two

Book a Visit

Prospective parents are encouraged to visit to see the school in action and to meet the Head.

Parents will be asked about their child’s general development and any identified physical disability or special educational needs.

Twice a term there is a virtual open event which is an opportunity to tour the school on an informal basis. Alternatively you might like to make an appointment for one of our Nursery Coffee Mornings or a personal tour out of school hours.  Book now.

Step Three

Submit an Application

Apply here.

Following a visit, parents wishing to apply for a place for their child should submit a completed Nursery Registration Form. Payment of the non-refundable Registration Fee of £50 may be paid via bank transfer, cash or cheque. Our Admissions Team will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your application to confirm receipt.

Registration is an indication of interest only and is not a guarantee of a place. If the year group is fully subscribed, the child will be placed on a waiting list.

Mid-year admissions enquiries

We are happy to accept enquiries regarding mid-year admissions to the Nursery subject to places being available. We will deal with your enquiry quickly and assist wherever possible. Please contact our Admissions Team on 01656 789966.

Step Four

Attend a Taster Day

Once an application has been received, we offer Taster Days for prospective Nursery children to experience life as a St Clare’s pupil. Numerous taster days take place throughout the year in order to establish whether the school can provide appropriately for the child’s needs.

Places are not automatic. In some cases a place will not be offered if we judge that a child’s development or behaviour is below expectation or that they will not flourish in the environment that we offer.

Step Five

Receive an Offer

We will endeavour to provide you with the outcome of your application and send Nursery offers out at least 9-12 months prior to entry.

Details on how to accept your place will be provided along with the offer letter.

A place is confirmed once a formal offer has been made by the school and a deposit has been received in return.
