Located in the historic village of Newton, we are close to the coast on the outskirts of Porthcawl, South Wales. St Clare's has a rich tradition of providing exceptional education for over 85 years to pupils from Nursery all the way through to Sixth Form.

Mrs Hier became Head at St Clare’s School in June 2018 after 5 years as Deputy Headteacher and 15 years as a Spanish Teacher. She has a passion for modern foreign languages, and introduced the impactful Enrichment Programme at St Clare’s.

Another day full of memories and laughter as we celebrated our incredible Year 11 pupils.
To mark the end of their school journey, pupils and families attended a heart warming assembly that brought joy, laughter, gratitude, and a few happy tears. The hall was filled with heartfelt speeches, poems and photographs as we looked back on their journey, moments of growth, friendships and memories made.
To leave a lasting mark, pupils in Year 11 also organised a fantastic football game for Year 9, 10 and 11. The game brought pupils together in the true spirit of teamwork, fun and celebration.

Well done Year 8 amazing work!
At KS3, pupils have termly “Pick and Mix” homework tasks for English linked to each topic. Year 8’s current topic is Gothic Horror.
Along with “challenge stickers” pupils are given opportunities to stretch their learning beyond the classroom. Pupils choose their own tasks which utilise various skills such as: Numeracy, Research, ICT, Literacy, Drama, Creativity, and Writing.
