Give your child the very best start in life…

Top Independent School in South Wales

We are a friendly, non-selective independent day school focussed on the wellbeing of our Nursery to Sixth Form pupils. At St. Clare’s, we pride ourselves on offering our pupils the very best start in life. We are able to provide an all-round education of the highest quality that will challenge and engage your child. Enthusiastic though we are about our school, its achievements and impressive facilities, we never lose sight of the fact that our core purpose is to ensure your child’s holistic development and well-being.

Below are just some of the reasons you should choose our private school on the glorious Glamorgan Heritage Coast for your child. However, don’t just take our word for it; come and see us in action at our next Open Morning on 18th April or book a private visit and guided tour.

‘Value Added’ school

Over the journey from Nursery to Sixth Form, our pupils achieve a combined VA equivalent to over a whole grade e.g. a pupil who should get CCC gets BBB, or BBA gets AAA etc.

With class sizes carefully controlled to optimise learning, we pride ourselves on our passionate and dedicated teaching to ensure the needs of individual pupils are met.

Education in our Nursery – not just ‘Day Care’

‘Top 20’ Daynurseries Award Winner (March 2018).

Our small class sizes, qualified teaching staff, individual learning journeys and a high degree of interaction with parents, combine to ensure that each child receives individual attention in a safe, enjoyable, caring and creative environment.

Not all nurseries have a full-time qualified teacher, and our pupils are very privileged to receive the care that they do.

Comments from a Nursery parent, January 2018

We like the small class sizes, the excellent staff, facilities and environment and the whole ethos of the school where children and staff at all stages of the school (nursery, prep, senior and sixth form) support each other

Comments from a Year 7 parent, June 2017

We cannot recommend the school highly enough and would advise any parents who are not satisfied with the educational provision for their child in comprehensive school to seriously consider St Clare’s.
