Personal & Social Education (non-examined)

What is Personal & Social Education ?
Personal and Social Education covers a wide range of topics.
At KS3 we acknowledge and address the changes that young people are experiencing beginning with the transition to secondary school and the challenges of adolescence. We aim to enable our students to acquire greater self assurance and to equip them to manage diverse relationships and cope with increasing influence of peer pressure and the media. This will enable them to be more confident in addressing the challenges of wider social involvement and effective learning.
At KS4 pupils are moving towards an adult role in life, taking on greater responsibility and exploring their sexual identity. Students should be equipped to manage these changes and be sufficiently prepared to cope with an increased exposure to the world of substance use and misuse. Outside agencies are used to support this programme such as Police Liaison Officer, School Nurse, Ogwr Dash etc.
