The Make Your Mark Challenge 2009 was to…..

“Let local inspiration lead you to a ‘cool’ creation”

All Year 10 pupils participated in the first stage of the competition within school and from here one team was chosen to represent the school. Lauren Mukherjee, Libby Gash, Lauren Prescott and Lizzie Isaac with their business idea ‘Retro Sands’, a company renting out beach huts on Coney Beach, Porthcawl, were chosen after each group gave a presentation to their peers and staff. The team then took part in the first external round at the Welsh Assembly in Cardiff, presenting their idea to over 3500 pupils from 75 schools and they came 2^nd in Wales – an excellent achievement !!
