Happy Puzzlers
28 November 2011Last Friday, pupils of all years enjoyed a visit from the Happy Puzzle Company, who challenged the students with a variety of puzzles, games and brain teasers.
Developed by Psychologist of Education, Gavin Ucko, the programme uses large 3D puzzles and challenges, which are solved by teams of students. They all look incredibly easy… until the students start trying to solve them! Their task then becomes one of turning the apparently impossible into the possible. As they do so, each student improves their thinking skills and team skills, whilst boosting their confidence in the process and raising their expectations of what they can achieve in the classroom.
Pupils gathered in the Senior School Hall for the experience - we could hear the cheers from the winning teams all the way over in the Prep School!
For parents who are interested, you can buy a selection of brain-teasers from the Happy Puzzle website.
