Great GCSE Results !
27 August 2009St Clare’s Celebrate Top GCSE results !
St Clare’s Independent School in Porthcawl was celebrating again today with the announcement of outstanding GCSE results. Just a week after a record year 100% A Level pass rate was announced; pupils from St Clare’s have achieved an exemplary 100% pass rate at GCSE as well. A highly commendable 96% of pupils achieved 5 or more GCSE pass grades at A* - C and nearly half of the overall grades were at A* / A.
Amongst the key achievers are:
• Mirali Patel who gained 11A*’s
• Sophie Crole who received 8A*’s and 3 A’s
• Catherine Moloughney who accomplished 8A*’s and 2 A’s
• Danielle Thomas who achieved 6A*, 4A and 2 B grades
• Chloe Williams who earned 5A*’s, 5A’s
• Peter Fodor who achieved 5A*’s, 3A’s and 3B’s
• Gabrielle Williams who realized 3A*’s, 7A’s and a B
• Jack Davies who gained 2A*’s, 6A’s and 2 B’s
• Lowri Jones who earned an A*, 7A and 2 B grades
• OnYu Suh who gained an excellent 2A*’s and 6A’s. An excellent achievement as English is her second language!
The Head of St Clare’s Catherine Barnard commented,
‘Our GCSE results this year have been fantastic and I want to congratulate all of the pupils who have endeavoured to study for these exams and prepare exemplary coursework. These results reflect all of their hard work over the last two years’.
