Why study ESOL ?

The University of Cambridge International GCSE “English as a Second Language” examination provides an English Language qualification acceptable for university entrance requirements, at grade C or above.

 

Aims & Objectives:

 

The course is designed to develop skills which will enable pupils to communicate in English with fluency and confidence.

 

You will study:

 

The main English Language text book has been written to follow the IGCSE syllabus. Pupils are encouraged to read widely and to practice their spoken English at school and outside.

 

You will learn:

 

Pupils learn to understand and communicate in English by developing reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

 

Assessment:

 

Progress is assessed during the course by test exercises. The examination has three parts:
Paper 1 – Reading & Writing
Paper 2 - Listening
Paper 3 - Oral
