Senior School (age 11-16)

Most entrants to our Senior School in Year 7 have moved up from our Preparatory School and quite a number of children do apply to join St. Clare’s from other schools, if places are available.

With class sizes carefully controlled to optimise learning, the Senior School prides itself on enthusiastic and dedicated teaching to meet the needs of individual pupils.

GCSE courses begin in Year 10 with a wide choice of subjects available for study in addition to the compulsory subjects, which include English, English Literature and Mathematics. Pupils are also expected to choose at least one science and one language. These choices are made at the end of Year 9.

There are a range of extra-curricular activities and clubs on offer, during lunchtimes and after school, and pupils are encouraged to join in and take part.
